<p>As well as agricultural pesticide Ecotoxicology testing, SynTech Research conducts biocide testing on several species of medical importance including scorpions. Our Ecotoxicology GAM, Eric Ythier, based at SynTech France, Macon, extends this interest, as an expert on scorpions.</p>
<p>Over the last six years, supported by SynTech, he has described six species new to science from the Cape Verde Islands, Philippines, Morocco, Madagascar, French Guyana and from Ecuador in 2013. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Khosro Khodayari, President and CEO of SynTech Research and Dr. Dalvan Heinert, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Santa Maria , Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, have agreed a novel co-operative education program. Biological sciences students from the University will be work as interns in one of SynTech’s USA or EU facilities as a part of their graduation requirement. The University will provide experts to deliver short courses to train SynTech staff in Brazil in Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science and Environmental Sciences. The parties are also discussing collaboration on  agricultural chemical and biotechnology R&amp;D activities<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><i>.</i></span></p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Austin (13) and Maddie (10) are the children of Denise Woodward, Associate Research Scientist &#8211; Study Director at SynTech Research Laboratory Services (SLRLS), Stilwell, Kansas. They collected insects and created displays as part of their entomology project in the local 4-H club.  Cathy Webster who also works at SLRS, provided the insects from which Austin and Maddie created this particularly impressive display in the SLRS Reception.<span style="color: #1f497d"><span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><br />

		<description><![CDATA[<p>In mid-March the SynTech Research Asia-Pacific team and some of their exclusive contractors met for the fifth SynTech Research Asia Pacific Workshop in Melaka, Malaysia. This is the location of a number of SynTech Import Tolerance trials.  Dave Marsden, Global Account Manager for Insecticides and Daniel Mourad, GAM for GLP also participated. Items covered included the SynTech Strategy, the new Staff Performance System, training in Leadership and GLP, efficacy trial methods and chemical import processes.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Arlin Bostian will take on a consultancy role with SynTech Research effective 1 April  2013, based at SynTech’s site in Stilwell, Kansas, USA.  He will help manage the SynTech Research operations in North America, reporting to Dr. Khosro Khodayari, President and CEO.</p>
<p>Dr. Bostian has a B.S. and M.S. in Biology / Plant Pathology from Oklahoma State University, and Ph.D. / Nematology from <a href="http://www.ncsu.edu">North Carolina State University</a>.  During the past 30 years Dr. Bostian served in several management positions for <a href="http://www.unioncarbide.com">Union Carbide</a>, Rhone-Poulenc, Aventis CropScience, and most recently as Senior Vice President Global Development for <a href="http://www.cropscience.bayer.com">Bayer CropScience</a>. His career has included management of development and regulatory teams in Europe (France and Germany) and Asia (Singapore and Japan).</p>
<p>His long-term experience in managing research organizations, development and registration of new crop protection products, M&amp;A project management, and agrochemical laboratory services globally will be a great value to our company and its future growth. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>SynTech Research Laboratory Services is recruiting five Interns at its Stilwell, KS. USA  facility during the 2013 summer season.  The students are from Kansas State University, Manhattan or from the University of Kansas, Lawrence who want to further their practical experience in the area of Life Sciences.</p>
<p>SynTech Research at Stilwell provides studies in Aquatic and Avian Toxicology, Non-Target Insects and Analytical Chemistry.  Each intern will assist our scientists and so gain real-time, hands-on experience of science in a Contract Research Environment.  It also allows SynTech Research to meet young scientists who may be interested in joining its organization after their education ends.<span style="color: #1f497d"><span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><i><br />

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Line Deslandes, Ecotoxicology Coordinator and Study Director for Non-Target Arthropods and Plants in SynTech France, has been appointed to deliver Terrestrial Ecotoxicology training courses.</p>
<p>These will be given to students at the IUT (higher education college) of Saint-Etienne, France. Supported by SynTech France, Line will be deliver three such courses in April 2013, each to classes of 20-30 students.</p>
